The Opportunity
Alice Armstrong Scales is looking for an experienced, commercially aware freelancer to work closely with her as she develops the next stage of her coaching business. A creative founder with a wealth of ideas, content and client relationships, Alice has ambitious plans. Your contribution will be to bring structure, thoughtful marketing and dependable follow-through to those plans.
This is a hands-on role with no team management requirement. You will turn agreed ideas into practical plans and completed projects, make sensible recommendations and take responsibility for delivery yourself. You will enjoy both looking ahead and doing the work, from planning to making sure an event runs smoothly. Your judgement and initiative, together with your ability to deliver, will be central to the partnership.
This is an opportunity to build a trusted partnership with Alice, combining her coaching expertise and creativity with your commercial thinking, organisation and initiative to grow the business and share in the satisfaction of achieving success together.
About the Business
Armstrong Scales Coaching offers high-performance coaching, bespoke personal development programmes, workshops, retreats, talks and motivational events to help people develop greater clarity, confidence and calm to be able to perform at their best in any situation.
Alice brings more than 20 years of coaching experience to her work with clients. These include high-profile individuals who expect discretion and a highly personal service.
In addition, Alice is planning to launch her App, Thrive with Alice, which will include:
Five to Thrive, Alice’s free foundational mindset programme;
Thrive for Life, her signature six-module personal development programme;
The Thrivers, her membership community with interactive engagement and on-line events
The Coach in your Pocket
Resource Library
Recordings of past Workshops
Guided Meditations, Readings and other content
The Purpose of Your Role
Help Alice continue to build an organised, commercially sustainable business while protecting the quality of the client and member experience.
Most of your time will support Armstrong Scales Coaching, with a smaller allocation for bookings and administration at Château Les Arcis, the family’s holiday property in Burgundy.
This opportunity would suit an established freelance operations and marketing professional who enjoys working closely with a founder and wants a regular, long-term client relationship alongside other commitments.
About the Role
Business planning and organisation
Translate Alice’s priorities into a realistic business and marketing plan, a forward calendar and clear actions, owners and deadlines.
Flag competing demands early and recommend what should happen first.
Organise inboxes, contacts, files and workflows so information is easy to find, responsibilities are clear and agreed projects move forward without constant prompting.
Maintain a concise progress update covering delivery, time used, results and decisions needed from Alice.
Marketing and client journeys
Plan and deliver agreed email and social media activity around monthly themes, programmes and events, often repurposing Alice’s existing material and preserving her voice.
Improve the journey from free content and Five to Thrive into Thrive for Life, Thrive with Alice or bespoke services, using the newly created funnels on Mastermind, Instagram (with ManyChat) with clear messaging, relevant follow-up and practical conversion measures.
Track a small set of useful measures, such as enquiries, registrations, email engagement, social media engagement and membership conversion. Use the findings to recommend changes rather than simply reporting activity.
Mastermind and the member experience
Become confident with Mastermind, the platform bringing together all aspects of the business: website, programmes, membership community, email marketing, and help coordinate the App migration from Passion.io to Mastermind, testing access, emails, onboarding and member communications.
Coordinate an agreed plan for the proposed January 2027 Thrive with Alice launch, refreshing existing launch material and identifying any technical support needed.
Support the agreed community calendar, including communications and resources for Thrive Live sessions, workshops, guest conversations and challenges.
Workshops and events
Plan and promote agreed Clarity & High-Performance Workshops and other events with sufficient lead time. Coordinate venues, registrations, participant communications and follow-up.
Keep event plans proportionate to the available time and budget, agreeing additional support or hours before committing to larger events or retreats.
Château Les Arcis
Take over established booking processes from Alison, maintain accurate platform calendars and records, respond to enquiries and liaise with the local team in France.
Prepare agreed guest communications, including a New Year newsletter. Work within a separately agreed enquiry coverage arrangement so the target of responding within 12 hours has clear ownership. The current platforms used are Airbnb, Booking.com, VRBO and Pure France.

About You
Experience of independently managing operations and delivering marketing for a small business, founder or professional practice, with examples of turning broad objectives into completed work.
Sound understanding of email marketing funnels, digital customer journeys and conversion, alongside strong project coordination and practical digital skills.
Excellent writing, careful judgement and the ability to capture someone else’s tone. You will communicate warmly and professionally with clients, members, guests and suppliers.
Strong organisation, commercial awareness and confidence in prioritising. You will be comfortable explaining what is achievable within the available hours.
Discretion, reliability and a collaborative approach. You will bring calm structure while remaining adaptable when plans change.
Experience in any of the following settings would be very relevant: coaching, wellbeing, membership, boutique hospitality, events or professional services.
Familiarity with Mastermind or comparable platforms, a good eye for presentation and some French would be useful; French is not essential.
Expectations
The first stage is a focused handover with Alison, as far as possible, a review of existing systems and a practical delivery plan. Priorities will then be agreed around the Mastermind migration, the proposed January launch and early 2027 workshops. Timing will depend on the start date, platform readiness and the work outstanding.
Within six months, success means reliable operational routines, an agreed marketing calendar, functioning member journeys, well-organised workshops and events and smooth château administration.
Commercial measures will be set with Alice once baseline data is understood; growth is a shared business objective rather than a guaranteed outcome of this role.
Further information
Proposed hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9.30am–12.30pm and 1.30pm–4.30pm.
Approximately one hour on Tuesdays is envisaged for Château Les Arcis, adjusted to demand within the agreed allocation.
£40 per hour, invoiced monthly for hours worked. Additional hours require prior agreement. Any enquiry checks outside the main working blocks must be scheduled and counted within paid time, with cover agreed for other periods, weekends and absence.
The proposed arrangement is freelance and self-employed, with practical terms agreed before appointment.
Most work can be remote with regular Zoom updates, but some in-person time will be necessary, especially at the beginning. The ideal candidate would be based near (or have easy access to) Central London and/or Newbury/Hungerford.
